A: Bring a valid form of ID and accepted form of payment.

You may also bring a bottle of water and light snack given the length of time spent in the appointment. Please make sure to prepare by having breakfast or a snack before the appointment.

Q: How long is testing going to take?

A: The length of time for each evaluation varies depending on how quickly they respond, number of items completed per measure, complexity of the case, and testing needs to adequately answer the referral question (reason for testing). On average, you can expect the intake and test administration to take between 3 and 4 hours. As testing is scheduled for the morning, it would be expected that you would be available around the typical time for lunch.

A: We will begin seeing those insured by Blue Cross Blue Shield and New Directions plans starting June 13th, 2024. Frequently Ask Questions

Q: Whoa! That's a lot. What does it even include?

A: Testing is a tool and an investment in yourself and your well-being. Chances are, you are not seeking services because everything in your life has been going wonderfully. More commonly, people undergo testing when they are experiencing so much difficulty managing behavioral and cognitive symptoms that they have problems in school, at work, in relationships with others, or at home.

The short answer is: The cost includes both the clinical interview, test administration, and feedback that are completed by the clinician with you, as the patient, and the services that are completed independently by the clinician such as scoring of tests and integrating information into a report. At the end of it all, you receive a signed report that specifies diagnoses with support listed through review of relevant interview and test data. If requested and supported through test data, a letter for academic and/or occupational accommodations may also be included with the report.

A more detailed answer is: Our providers are invested in you and your mental health. The testing process is extensive with several hours spent with the clinician for the interview and testing, and additional time spent by the clinician dedicated towards reviewing individual responses to test items, scoring performance through statistical analysis to identify personal cognitive strengths and weaknesses, interpretation of patterns found in the data, reviewing available and relevant records, and creation of a comprehensive report for review by both the patient and their treating provider(s). Every evaluation includes a thorough clinical interview with you (the patient) and, as needed, additional familiar sources (example: parent, spouse). While the interview is designed to learn about your background and the problem at hand, it is also used to determine what areas of life you may be having difficulty in to better inform personalized recommendations for care or treatment.

The feedback, or results, appointment is commonly scheduled 2 -3 weeks after the testing appointment. During this appointment, the clinician reviews all test results with you, as the patient, and discusses diagnoses and recommendations. A final signed copy of the report is provided for your records, both as supporting documentation for needed treatment, and as comparison to testing that may be required in the future. Every report includes review of your personal test performance, clinical impressions from testing and interview, formal diagnoses, individualized recommendations and a summary of test results.
